SEMWORKNAS 2018
SEMWORKNAS (Seminar dan Workshop Nasional) is a national event held annually by ALSA Indonesia and this year, it was held on 7-9 July 2018 in Hasanuddin University, Makassar. SEMWORKNAS is held to discuss legal issues in Indonesia and this year’s theme was “The Urgency of Bankruptcy and Suspension of Obligation for Payment of Debts Law Revision” with the tagline of “Find Our Rhythm of Harmony Throughout the Nation”.
On the first day of SEMWORKNAS, the delegates were gathered in Prof. Amiruddin Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University. The agenda of the first day was the national seminar with the theme “The Urgency of Bankruptcy and Suspension of Obligation for Payment of Debts Law Revision”. The seminar was started by singing Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by ALSA Anthem. The main event, the seminar itself, was then delivered by Prof. Dr. Anwar Borahima, S.H., M.H., Oscar Sagita, S.H., Nani Indrawati, S.H., M.Hum., and Daniel P. Silitonga, S.H., M.Hum. that, unfortunately, couldn’t attend the seminar and was represented by his staffs.
The agenda of the second day was the workshop and was held in Harper Hotel Makassar. Each table or group consisted of 10 delegates from various universities. The workshop’s theme was about how to calculate a company’s bankruptcy and the workshop was delivered by Muhammad As’ary, S.H. and Peter Kurniawan, S.H., two curators from IKAPI. Each group were given time to discuss and after that, the curators showed the correct way to calculate which led to the correct answers. After the workshop, the committee gave each delegates free time to prepare for the closing ceremony & for each local chapters to practice their performance. The event was then continued with the closing ceremony. Each local chapters were given the chance to show their best performances in the closing ceremony. After each local chapters showed their performances, the event was then continued to awarding night. One of ALSA LC UGM’s delegate, Dimas Purna, was crowned as Daeng SEMWORKNAS 2018.
On the last day of SEMWORKNAS, the delegates were split into 4 groups for culinary trip to visit 4 different restaurants. After the delegates tasted the delightful delicacies of Makassar, the trip was then continued to visit the remarkable Fort Rotterdam. In Fort Rotterdam, the delegates learned the history of Fort Rotterdam, as well as the history of South Sulawesi cultures. At twilight, the delegates were gathered in Losari Beach for the symbolical closing. Each local chapters were given paper lanterns, and at one command, were told to lit the lanterns and flew them into the sky as the delegates sang the ALSA Anthem. The peaceful blow of wind and the sound of waves colliding that accompanied the chant of ALSA Anthem surely sent shivers down the delegates’ spines.
